CTV News — UX overhaul
Bell Media — Giving Canada's top news network a fresh new face.
My Role
UX Designer — UX Design, UX Researcher, Information Architecture
Overview
CTV News was planning a redesign and migration to a new content management system (CMS) called Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Therefore, it was an ideal time to look at what the competition is doing, what the trends are and what is currently resonating with their users.
Through this research we identified, we gathered a list of recommendations such as having a mobile first approach for the website, allow users to personalize their experience, and focus more on making the site more accessible.
Along with these points, we discovered a modular design would not only breathe life back into this redesign but it would also compound onto how users appreciate a customization experience.

Timeline
September 2019 - January 2020
Challenge
CTV News stands as a prominent news network in Canada. The comprehensive redesign and transformation of the CTV News site and app were finalized in January 2020, with additional features seamlessly incorporated in subsequent sprints.
I joined Bell Media as a UX designer in May of 2019 and I worked hand-in-hand with a Design Lead on implementing the remaining requirements as part of the scope defined earlier in the timeline of the project.
With the valuable information we gained through our research and workshops, we were able to create a design allowed us to implement modular design.
